- Contract: Call-off for the Supply of Buses
- Estimated contract value: Up to £275m
- Procuring authority: South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority
- Sector: Transport & Mobility
- Client: Major bus manufacturer and transport solutions provider
- Our involvement: TOMs Social Value solutioning, quantification and delivery planning
The procurement formed part of South Yorkshire’s Bus Franchising programme and sought suppliers capable of supporting the development of a modern, efficient and future-ready bus fleet. The call-off covered electric and diesel single- and double-deck buses, with the contracts providing flexibility for further vehicle purchases through successive phases of the franchising programme up to 2030.
Beacon supported the client with the Social Value submission, focusing on turning proposed activities into robust, measurable commitments through the TOMs framework. We worked with the bid team to identify and quantify appropriate measures, test the credibility and deliverability of the targets, and develop the supporting delivery plan setting out how commitments would be implemented, managed and evidenced. The client was subsequently successful in securing an award under the procurement.
