- Contract: FCAS Design and Construction Framework
- Estimated contract value: Framework expected up to £1bn
- Procuring authority: BAE Systems
- Sector: Defence & Construction
- Client: Tier 1 construction contractor
- Our involvement: Sustainability and Social Value solutioning and expert bid writing
The framework supports the infrastructure required for BAE Systems’ Future Combat Air System programme, a major long-term defence programme involving advanced engineering, manufacturing and associated facilities. The procurement placed significant emphasis on how delivery partners would support BAE Systems’ wider sustainability, workforce and supply-chain ambitions alongside the design and construction requirements.
Beacon led the development of the client’s responses across four interconnected areas: net-zero delivery and operational emissions; value-chain decarbonisation and responsible supply chains; Social Value, inclusion and skills development; and environmental stewardship, ethics and governance. We worked across the bid team to turn existing corporate capability into a coherent contract-level strategy, identify new commitments and delivery mechanisms, and write the final responses.
